Since January 2021, adhesive vignettes are no longer available. To use most freeways and expressways in Czechia, you need a digital vignette if you are driving a motor vehicle with at least four wheels and a maximum permitted weight of 3.5 tons. Toll-free routes are marked by signage. Motor homes up to 3.5 tons also require a digital vignette. Motorcycles/tricycles and trailers are exempt from this obligation. As of January 2021, some other types of vehicles have been exempt from the vignette requirement (electric cars, hybrid and hydrogen cars, etc.). More information here. Motor vehicles with a maximum weight of more than 3.5 tons are subject to tolls, depending on the route.
The motorways in the Czech Republic add up to a total of 1,350 km and form a road network that is now twice as long as it was 30 years ago. Further expansion work is planned for more than 2000 km. In addition, many dual carriageways have been converted to toll roads since 2016. Please note that a digital vignette has been required for motorways and dual carriageways in the Czech Republic since 2021.
Motorways subject to tolls are marked orange on the map (as of 16 December 2024). No warranty is provided for the completeness and accuracy of the information.
