The fourth day of our tour took us deep into the heart of North Moravia, a region known for its rich history and cultural diversity. Our first destination was Kroměříž, a town famous for its impressive castle and gardens.
Upon arriving in Kroměříž, we first visited the castle, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture that has long been regarded as a jewel of the Czech Republic. The castle park, a prime example of Baroque garden design, was a true feast for the eyes. We strolled along the artfully laid-out paths, past colorful flower beds and elegant water features. It was a sensory delight to walk in this splendor and experience the harmony of nature and art.
Another highlight in Kroměříž was a visit to the Archbishop's Wine Cellar. During a wine tasting, accompanied by a selection of local cheese and bread, we learned about the rich wine tradition of the region. The wine, deep and full-bodied, was a perfect complement to the rustic flavors of the cheese and bread. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the local specialties and learn more about the winemaking culture of Moravia.
After this culinary experience, we continued our journey to the bishop's seat in Olomouc. This city, known for its impressive collection of Baroque architecture, welcomed us with open arms. Particularly memorable was the Holy Trinity Column, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in the historic city center. Its intricate sculptures and detailed design were a testament to the craftsmanship and religious influence of the time.
Back in Brno, we reflected on the rich impressions of the day, from Baroque splendor to historical sites, all of which painted a unique picture of North Moravia.
