The ninth day of our exploration took us to the famous Bohemian Spa Triangle, a symbol of elegance and healing.
Our day began in Pilsen, a city known worldwide for its beer and rich industrial history. The main square of Pilsen, a lively and colorful place, provided the perfect backdrop for our city tour. A special attraction was the climb up the St. Bartholomew's Bell Tower, the tallest bell tower in the Czech Republic. From the top, we had a spectacular view of the city and its surroundings, a truly unforgettable experience.
From Pilsen, we continued to Cheb (Eger) and then to Karlovy Vary, the most renowned and perhaps the most beautiful spa town in the Czech Republic. Karlovy Vary, nestled in a picturesque river gorge, welcomed us with its elegant architecture and famous colonnades. Walking along these magnificent columned promenades was like a journey back in time when kings and artists came here to enjoy the healing powers of the springs.
We took the opportunity to taste the healing water of the twelve springs and also discovered the 13th Karlovy Vary healing water, Becherovka, an herbal liqueur known for its taste as well as its digestive properties. Of course, the famous Karlovy Vary wafers were a must—a delicious pastry that pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee.
Our day ended with a drive to Sokolov, another charming town in this region. We reflected on the day and thought about the fascinating mix of culture, history, and cuisine we had experienced. From the lively brewing city of Pilsen to the elegant spa baths of Karlovy Vary—this day was a true kaleidoscope of Czech traditions and beauty.
