The eighth day of our journey took us to two of the most picturesque places in the country: Hluboká Castle and the town of Český Krumlov.
Our first stop was Hluboká Castle, considered one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic. This fairy-tale castle, inspired by English Gothic, stands majestically amidst an impressive park landscape. As we strolled through the lavishly furnished rooms and extensive gardens, we felt transported to another world. The attention to detail in the castle's architecture and interior was breathtaking and reflected the splendid history of the noble Schwarzenberg family.
After this royal experience, we continued to Český Krumlov. This town, famous for its well-preserved old town ensemble, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, fascinated us with its medieval architecture and winding alleys. We visited the Schwarzenberg Castle, which towers high above the town and offers a spectacular view of the old town and the Vltava River.
Another highlight was the visit to the old Eggenberg brewery. During a tour of the brewery, we learned interesting details about traditional brewing and the history of beer brewing in the region. Lunch at the rustic brewery inn "Eggenberg" was a culinary experience. We enjoyed typical Czech dishes, accompanied by freshly tapped beer brewed on site.
We rounded off the day with a walk around Český Krumlov. We explored the charming streets, admired the picturesque houses, and were captivated by the vibrant atmosphere of the town. Český Krumlov, with its combination of historical beauty and lively culture, was the perfect end to a day full of discoveries and delights.
